I've had it for 2 years now and I love it. Whenever I need some lemon, lime or orange juice to cook or drink, I know it's gonna take some seconds for me to cut it opened and juice it off! This product is very sturdy and make the most out of citric fruits, leaving nothing left to squeeze.
It's also VERY easy to operate. You don't even have to press the handle that hard, only for some seconds, and all the juice is gone - right to the glass.
It's just great to be able to make some fresh juice - RE

I typically use our juicer once a week for my weekly orange juice fix & lime juice for drinks & cooking. Also, about four or five times a year (more?) we'll use it for cases of limes and oranges at a time for parties. My once a week fix is about 25 oranges and about 20 limes. I just checked my order history and we bought this in May 2007 - it's still going strong and still feels and looks new. It makes quick work of juicing a case of oranges or a case of limes (mmmm, margaritas!) and I've also used it r

Replaced my old (inexpensive) Braun citrus juicer with this model. It's like going from a VW to a Mercedes. Just the lightest touch is all that's needed to express the juice.
I love making fresh lemonade daily during the summer. Also I buy the large bags of lemons and limes at Costco and juice them and freeze into cubes for cooking and cocktails. Saves a lot of time and mess when serving and the fruit is used up while it's optimally fresh..no finding a couple of moldy lemons in the bottom of the f

I was a little hesitant to get this juicer because of the price, but it is well worth the cost. It makes a glass of juice in seconds and is very easy to clean. We use it every day. The only thing that could be improved is the top part that pushes the orange down. It is a little difficult to lock it back in after cleaning but that's a minor issue.

For years I tried to find a great Citrus juicer and had found a small Oster but it took a lot or muscle power to press down on the fruit, especially when juicing for a crowd.
I had often wished that someone would combine the style of the juice press with the whirling type used in traditional electric reaming juicers.
Then a couple of years later I found that Breville had indeed done that.
So after mulling over the cost and studying the product further we decided to go for it.

I gave up my old citrus press assuming this one must be better. But it is just a nice machine. The design is beatiful, but the it works slow, gets stuck easily and the arms is complicated to use since it requires delicate motion and a specific angle to press.

I LOVE this citrus press. My fiance and I became fascinated with fresh orange juice after a trip to europe. If you order orange juice in europe, you can bet it's fresh squeezed. So we decided to get a citrus press for our housewarming gift to ourselves. After a lot of research, my fiance picked this brand. We've had it for a month and I love it. It's motorized, so it is easy to get all the juice possible out of the orange. Best part...it's easy clean-up. There are three pieces you have to wash after

My wife bought one for my birthday. It looked really sleek and beautiful and I was so pleased with my present. Then we used it... We set it up and began making lemonade for the party. After squeezing lemons AS DIRECTED IN THE MANUAL for 15-20 minutes it stopped working and would not start again. We looked in the manual under trouble shooting but no help there. We put it away and pulled out our old Cuisinart plastic citrus juicer ($29.95) we have owned for years and finished making lemonade for my birthday p

The Breville 800CPXL Citrus Press is easy to clean, light enough to move about but heavy enough to be very stable while in use. The fatigue factor while juicing was minimal compared to the usual Big Box juicer that I have experienced in the past.

I have owned this unit for two months now and have had nothing but success with it. I use it two to three times a week, mostly with grapefruit but have also used it with oranges limes and lemons too. For some reason the manual recommends against grapefruit but they work well with this juicer. One grapefruit will yield an appropriate size glass of juice for one person. This unit is easy to clean and has a very simple but exceptionally functional feature; the end of the cord that plugs into the wall has a hole in it large enough to put a finger through to pull it out. This is a small feature but one that is brilliant in design. I think this is a Breville trademark since I've not see it on any other small appliance cords and I've just purchased a Breville juicer that has the same cord end-simply fantastic. Another thing not to overlook is the overall quality of the this citrus juicer. Breville does a great job with with the function and finish of this unit; it's simply a quality built, quality finished piece. As for the size, as some have commented in other review, it is not too big. It's what is to be expected for a small appliance of this quality, power and function. Purchase with confidence, you won't be disappointed.

We received the product and tried it the next morning. My wife tried for 2 hours and the motor did NOT work. It is a simple juicer, turn it on and push the handle down and the motor supposed to start. But id did not. It was completely dead. Same day, I went on to amazon.com and check this LoDough Linens & More which has the policy of returning within 3 days, plus I have to contact Amazon Customer service for this matter. Only way to contact to this merchant was thru email. I did send them email and also called Amazon to report this. Next day I received email back from this merchant about the return with UPS label, they would only send out the new one when they receive the defective one back. I had to send out the defective one the next day. I received the new one more than a week later. This new one is working fine so far. I am not sure that I will buy from this merchant again since their return policy is only 3 days, NOT inline with Amazon.com 30 days policy. Fast sender, fast responding in email though. That's why 3 stars.

This juicer is awesome. It works great for any type of citrus fruit but does a lot more than that. Oranges fit perfectly in this juicer but so does most citrus fruit of various sizes. I've tried oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines so far. What's better? Even though this machine is a citrus juicer, the name of the machine hasn't stopped me from experimenting with other fruits. I can tell you from personal experience that you can stick apples in this thing and it makes some fantastic apple juice. I haven't tried other fruits yet, but I will and I'll update this review when I do. It comes with two different size strainers (more pulp/less pulp) but usually I just stick with the bigger one. Very easy to clean; it only has 4 parts that you have to wash after using it. It has a clean appearance and looks great in any kitchen. It is built solid and does not take much effort to use. Overall a fantastic product.

We've really enjoyed using this citrus juicer over the past two months: easy to use, quick, easy to clean. The stainless finish is attractive, particularly in our kitchen where we have no large stainless appliances. But it's kind of tall, and so storing it takes a bit of creative organization. We have an average-size kitchen, and the only place it would fit was in the base cabinets, vying for space with the pots and pans, and our veggie juicer. We use it regularly so it ended up in the lazy susan corner cabinet. We need to fold down the press arm a bit, and then deal with it when we remove it from the cabinet. Overall a good purchase so far, it seems durable so it will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

My friends have this product and apparently like it. I bought a refurbished unit from R&R technologies via Amazon and the product failed after two weeks. Breville says that it is not covered by their warranty, Amazon is great at pointing the finger at others, and R&R Technologies doesn't return any correspondence whatsoever. I recommend you look elsewhere for a juicer. Do not buy this product - it is nothing but trouble.

This is a heavy duty stainless steel citrus juicer that looks as good as it performs. Extracting juice from oranges and other citrus fruits is a breeze. What I like most is that the cleanup takes just a couple of minutes of rinsing. I like the feature where you can "pause" the juice flow to switch glasses or whatever. If there is a minor gripe it is that the upper cup that is attached to the handle sometimes comes loose. I know that Breville designed this so that it is easy to clean, but they should have put some sort of a positive lock on it so that it comes out only when you want it to.
Other than that I expect this juicer to last a lifetime - it has an excellent build quality and considerable heft. I leave mine on the counter so that it is readily available - if you do not have the counter space, you might have to re-consider buying this juicer. All in all, I would strongly recommend this juicer

This juicer is a brilliantly designed, sturdy, dependable juicer that is actually well worth its outrageous price.

Every aspect of this juicer is well thought-out. At first some details might seem a bit strange-- for example, the top part leans over slightly like a wilting flower-- but as it turns out there is a reason for every odd detail: to make the machine more functional. Breville obviously spent a lot of time and effort designing this thing, and the more we use it the more we appreciate the thought and care that went into it.

We have had ours for over a year, and use it to juice at least a gallon of orange juice a week. It still looks brand new. The stainless steel is durable, and the engine and moving parts are all built to last. Easy to break down and clean. We don't have any complaints, or even any quibbles, and definitely no regrets.

This is the best citrus juicer ever! Like others, I swallowed hard at the price tag. I even postponed ordering for a few days to think it over. Would I really use it enough to justify the high price tag? In the end, the rave reviews of others convinced me, and I'm glad they did! What a great purchase this was!

This machine makes juicing so easy! The designer was obviously thinking about every design detail. It's just about as perfect as a citrus juicer could be! Effective, easy to use, easy to clean, dishwasher safe--what more could one want?

The machine is faster and quieter than any other juicer I've owned (which is really nice first thing in the morning). And, unlike so many other juicers, the machine requires very little hand or arm pressure to do the job. The long arm takes all the work out of the process. And this juicer never balks, as so many do. It just does the job, quickly, thoroughly and efficiently.

It's now a pleasure to make fresh orange juice every single morning. I've also made real lemonade and fresh lemon-lime ade. Ever tried them? They're delicious!!! Oh, and we've made fresh grapefruit juice, too!
The machine has handled every fruit beautifully.

Like others, I do wish there was another, "coarser" strainer, for those of us who love lots of pulp in our juice. But maybe that would allow too many of the small seeds through. And it's not a big deal to just scoop out the pulp and add it to the juice.

I also was a bit concerned about reviewer reports of the large size. Yup, it's larger than regular juicers, but I love it so much and use it so much that I've "found" space on my counter for it!

If you love fresh citrus juice, for the flavor, for the health benefits, or both, Breville is the citrus juicer to buy! In fact, I'm considering splurging and buying one for each of my adult kids!

great for oranges and limes - lemons with 'knobby ends" can spin in the holder and not press as well (solve by cutting in half sideways instead of vertically)

well made - HEAVY - occasionally needs some encouragement to start spinning if you lower handle very gently

once you get used to its minor foibles, it's a wonderful machine, although one you won't want to lift on and off the countertop if you have the space to leave it out

I've pressed about 400 oranges and limes with this machine. It does a beautiful job of squeezing every last drop of juice from the fruit - and I mean it sucks it dry. The effort on my part is minimal. My only concern is that it sometimes makes a squeeky noise - so I don't know if it will last in the long term. I've used many juicers, and this is by far the best, so I'm hopeful.

I'm a frequent juicer -- not in great quantities, but I juice often. This juicer makes such convenient work of it. I think the keys are: stainless so it's easy to rinse and clean, and the juice tray. Unlike other models, this has a spout that directs the juice where ever you want: a glass if it's an orange, a small measuring cup if it's lemon or lime. And the tray isn't a bowl, so it is shallow, easy to rinse out and there's little fuss. You would think that such a large machine (it is heavy and big -- but attractive on the counter) would demand a lot of maintenance, but it doesn't.

Being the somewhat anal retentive individual that I am, I wanted to complete a "squeezing season" on the Breville before I made up my mind about it. Well, I'd buy it all over again, many times over; a truly wonderful machine. Over 9 spread-out squeezing days, I squeezed a total of 13 gallons of lemon, ruby red grapefruit, and valencia orange juice. The machine worked flawlessly, very smoothly, and very quitely. I guess like lots of other things, you get what you pay for. A shame I can only rate it at 5 stars! I liked it so much, my next door neighbor (where I obtained all the ruby red grapefruit) bought one and raves about it also. Thank you Breville!!

In search of the perfect juicer | Friday, May 01, 2009

I just purchased this juicer and absolutely love it! I had purchased an Omega 5000 for about the same amount of money and this does not compare, it is so much better. Fairly quiet, very easy to clean and gets every bit of the juice from your fruit....when you pull the handle back, basically it's the rind of the fruit. You do have to clean out the pulp more often, BUT it's very easy to do. I'd researched juicers and most of the websites out there reccommended the breville. If you like fresh juice, this is by far THE best one. Moreover, you will be more inclined to drink fresh juice everyday because of how easy to use and clean this one is. I would say, as with most juicers, you want to clean it right away (it will be easier this way) and use very hot water as this will get all pulp out. I am a very picky person and had even spent about the same money for an Omega...wish I would have found this first. This is definitely worth the money.

Just got our Breville Juicer and love it. My wife owns a Tea Room and will be using this Citris Press a lot. We just squeezed a batch of lemons and must say this is the best machine we have ever experienced for this task. It is quiet, powerfull, beautiful, and so easy to clean and operate. It is effortless to use and does get every last drop of juice from the lemons and limes we squeeze for the Tea Room recipes. It operates exactly as advertised. Even the power cord has a loop in the plug for easy removal from the wall socket. I was sad when all the lemons were done as it was actually fun to operate the machine. This is a quality machine and I highly recommend it to anyone that has a need for a lot of fresh squeezed juices. I have always said "buy the best and you will save money in the long run" as cheaper machines will have to be replaced or will not produce the fast results this one does. My first impression for this machine is OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!

Purchased in July 2006, this juicer has a place of honor on our counter. It is beautiful, it is powerful, it is an elegant functional design, and it is incredibly easy to clean up. It handles large oranges and small tangerines, it handles rock-hard limes and mushy oranges. It is safe enough that I let my 5 yr old grandson use it (supervised) and until you understand the safety mechanism I defy you to activate it unintentionally. It is tall, but will fit under a cupboard that is 17.5 inches above the counter. The basket filters out some pulp, but you get a fair amount of pulp in the juice. The spout snaps closed so that you don't drip when you carry the messy parts to the sink. The parts that touch the fruit are stainless steel and hard plastic. The remainder is buffed aluminum. Everything snaps apart easily using mechanisms that won't wear out. Pop the fruit holder out of the top, snap the spout closed, and lift the whole juice catching assembly off the hexagonal drive shaft and carry it to the sink for clean-up (I can do it with one hand if I have to). This is a juicer that won't get sold at an estate sale. The kids are going to fight over it.

Feb. 2009 - We've had the Breville Citrus Press for about a month, and we really like it so far. We purchased it to supplement our Green Star juicer which doesn't handle citrus fruits very well (or quickly)since we would have to peel the citrus fruit before juicing them. This citrus press has been very easy to use and clean up. We've been making a jug of orange juice every morning. The lever design makes it fast and easy to juice a lot of oranges at one time. It reams out the juice in no time at all! And the strainer allows just the right amount of pulp through. It's so fast that it's actually fun to use. Our 3 and five year old grand kids LOVE to help us make orange juice. We keep it on our counter because it is a little too heavy to haul out of the cabinet every morning, but it looks good so that's not a problem. I also like the way the flow of juice can be stopped at any time by flipping up the spout. The Breville Citrus Press is pricey but so far it's been a good buy so I rate this 5 stars.

Jan. 2010 - My Breville citrus press just stopped working!!!! The gears seem to be slipping and the reaming is not turning anymore. I have really enjoyed using this juicer every day. I am so disappointed to know that all of the reviewers who bashed this product really knew what they were talking about. At over $150.00 the lack of longevity makes this product a very poor buy!!!!!!! Save yourself the headache and spend your money elsewhere. I wish I could have changed my rating to a zero star.

We have used-up at least 5 juicers prior to the Breville. We generally juice 20-30 oranges/month for breakfast juice. After a year or two of this "heavy use" they just die. And when you use them they seem to be fragile and difficult to handle. It changed an unpleasant chore that nobody wanted to do into a fun event. It is so big and powerful and sturdy and easy to use that I DON'T HAVE TO SQUEEZE THE ORANGES ANY MORE!!! MY WIFE DOES IT!!! SHE THINKS IT'S FUN!!!
You do need a fairly large space to store it and it won't fit under our upper cupboards. It's pretty big; but if somebody were to steal this one I would go right out and buy another one. I say that because it's obvious that the motor is not going to sigh and die any time soon. It will probably outlive me and my daughter can use it, probably for the rest of HER life.

One of the few compensations for our long northeastern winters is the excellent citrus coming up from Florida. Over the years, I've wasted money on many juicers, but finally found the Breville which is just about perfect. Thoughtfully designed, very well constructed and really easy to clean. I've had mine for a year now and feel the Canadian manufacturers should be congratulated. Works on all citrus sizes, from limes to grapefruits. This is the quality of appliance we should be building in North America instead of buying the cheapies from Asia.

This juicer is amazing. It is easy to use. My 5-year-old starting juicing with it right out of the box. The arm is easy to lower, and it effortlessly presses down on the fruit. The most amazing part of the this juicer is that it extracts every last bit of juice from the fruit. You would have to chew on the rind to get more juice from it, and even then you'd be pressed to find more. Very well designed, built like a tank. This is my second Breville juicer (my other is a Breville IKON centrifugal juicer). I've been very happy with both so far, and anticipate they will last a long time.

It is a big dissolution this acquisition. I bought recently, in September of this year, in Amazon.com the Breville 800CPXL Die-Cast Stainless-Steel Motorized Citrus Press. Receiving this article (not cheap, I paid US$ 169.99) I tried to connect it, but the citrus press doesn't work. The motor do not start at all.

Phoning and writing to Breville, I finely received a month later an answer of them, telling me (without any apology) to look for a friend or family member in the USA (I live in Central America and don't know any one in the USA) and to send the citrus press back on my own costs (nearly US$ 60. =) to one of them and ask the friend to connect Breville, cause Breville only assumes transport costs inside the USA.

I wonder if this is the correct treatment of an enterprise like Breville which pretend to be the producer of first class articles with first class service: first sending a totally damaged article and than to ask the client to pay transport back to the USA.

It is difficult to find a solution, because finely it is the client who pays the price (rather high) for the damage caused by the producer of this product.

I hope that Amazon.com learns its lesson, to sell products that are damaged.

I was about to rate it 5 stars, but a few minor details could be improved:
There should be a way to keep the handle in the low position to store the machine under cabinets (it is a little bit to high).
The "coarse" grid does not let pulp go through
Big grapefruits can't be squeezed completely

But very easy to clean, very efficient, silent, beautiful.
Heavy, though...

Just received my juicer today. After juicing about 20 lemons, nothing. Let it sit for about half hour, then worked again. Juiced another 15 lemons, then nothing again. I don't think they should call this "industrial strength". It appears the motor can handle only so much, then has to rest for a while. Think twice if you juice more than a few pieces of fruit at a time...

follow up: continues to do the same bizarre stopping and starting after 2 weeks - sent it back. i have a $10.00 toastmaster brand juicer that is easily as efficient (though not as pretty) and certainly more reliable.

It looks great. But mine is dead out of the box. This is the first sign that quality control on an otherwise well made product is not good. I would not expect a $170 juicer to not even work out of the box. I read the instructions several times, because I thought for sure it was my fault, but everything is assembled properly but the motor doesn't even spin.
I'll return it and try another. But be prepared if you order this online, having to do a return for one could be pain. Very disappointing. Hopefully I can report better results with another one. I was going to order their multi-speed juicer as well, but I think I'll make sure one of these works long term first.
Update - After a week the replacement one arrived. Yeah. It only worked for 3 seconds, motor stopped, and now NOTHING again. I called Breville, and they were not very helpful. The best they could offer was to ship it to them. I think a bad batch of these has gone out and they have poor quality control. I'm afraid to buy another one or any of their products at this point. For this amount of money, the product should be MUCH more durable. Very disappointing.
