I would like to give a review on how well the machine works but because I have been dealing with the issue of actually getting a replacement part (pulp catcher) through the Power Juicer site and CSR phone line, I cannot give a review of the juicing ability, since I have hardly been able to use the machine.

First, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired...

I ordered a replacement pulp catcher for the Elite and I had to wrong part sent to me, not once, but three time! CSR tol

This is the most awesome juicer ever! I have tried other juicers, and they do not do the job well at all. This product does exactly what it says it does. You get all of the juice from the fruit/vegetable, and there really is just dry pulp left over.

The bigger spout makes it alot easier because you don't have to cut the food so small before you put it in the spout.

This is the only juicer I would recommend to anyone.

I'm also disappointed with Jack Lalanne's Delux Juicer.
I like the low noise. The quantity and texture of juice for fruits that juice well.
These are what I do not like:
The machine doesn't perform as seen on TV. Everything has to be cut into small pieces - it doesn't take whole apples.
Even after cutting into small pieces, the quantity that goes into the chute has to be very little.
The spout clogs up quickly.
The pulp receptor doesn't stay in one place. So it's very me

Very very disappointed with this machine. It is broken after a very few uses. It spits vegetables, fruits every where gets jammed every piece of fruit and now does not even turn on. I have used possibly ten times. Do not go near within a inch~!

It comes with a suggestion recipe book to let you know that juicing is just not for juicing. There's recipes for dressings and soups as well which I thought was really cool. Especially for a first time juicer like me. The price is well worth it too. To me it's actually a steal. This is my first juicer, so this decision was as nerve racking as buying my first car or first house. I finally came to the conclusion that it was now or never and I'll take the loss. I think I did extremely well with this. M

I have had a Jack Lalanne Juicer for many years. I recently upgraded to the deluxe stainless-steel model believing that the stainless steel would be on the inside where the juice is formed and captured. I was disappointed to find out that the stainles steel was on the outside only. I do not care what the outside finish is, my concern is the material that comes in contact with the juice. .Jack Lalanne's JLSS Power Juicer Deluxe Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer

The machine did not perform as shown on tv, I still had to cut my apples to make them fit into the machine, not like shown on tv. My extractor section had to be cleaned because it bacame plugged before I could finish juicing. And the juice spout is so low that you could only use a small cup when catching your juice.

My sister bought the Jack Lalanne juicer for my mother, but she did want it so she gave it to me. I had been wanting one for a long time and was happy to get it. I am not disappointed. I haven't had any problems except for having to take everything apart to clean it every time and getting some of the pulp off of the mesh screen. Other than that, it works great! It makes a lot of juice and it's sturdy. I haven't had any problem with the motor or anything else, so those who did must have bought a defective on

This juicer was a gift for my Aunt. She has not used it as yet. It was shipped in a shoter time than indicated, the price is right and it appears to be a sturdy product. I went back on line to get one for myself at the same price but it was increased to over $40.00. Guess, I'll wait until it is on sale again before I can buy one and give my review.

I find it easy to put together and take apart for cleaning, you must be careful with the bin though or you can have the fibrous part of the fruits and vegetables all over your counter.
I would recommend this product to anyone needing a juicer.
The juice is realy delicious and fresh.

I read all the reviews before I purchased my juicer. This juicer got some bad reviews but I don't think it was the juicers fault. If you read the information that comes with the juicer and you use it the way you're suppose to, the juicer works great. I use my juicer 2-4 times a day and I've never had any problems with it.
The juice that comes out of the juicer is not thick and pulpy as I feared it might be, it is just the right consistency and this juicer gets all the juice out of my produce.

I had this about a month or two now. I think it's great when I use it. However cleanup is a bit of a pain. Also, a lot of the pulp actually gets stuck on the mesh screen and the top cover, versus going into the waste container. That was sort of annoying as that makes for more clean up on my part. Overall though, I'd say I'm satisfied with the juicer. I like how the spout can close and clean up isn't hard. It just sucks to take the whole thing apart all the time.

I have found the unit to do a good job juicing, but if you are an aggresive juicer; i.e., daily, expect to replace the cutting blades every six months @ $30. You will know when - the unit bogs down when fed vegetables. This unit has a stainless spout, but the juice collection chamber is plastic. It should have been engineered with a stainless juice collection chamber instead of plastic. It is manufactured in China, so who knows what plastic chemicals mix with the juice.

This juicer works surprisingly well. Have tried various juicers before and was very dissatisfied. I had lots of citrus (oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit and tangeloes) to be juiced and was finished much sooner than I expected. The pulp and rinds were perfect for my compost pile and the juice was excellent fresh as well as frozen.

I purchased this unit directly from Lalanne's website. My elderly mother had a lung transplant in 2008. I bought this for her, to improve her health with a wider variety of vegetables and fruits. She didn't care for juicers because the juices can be very acidic and hard on her stomach. I used carrots, apples, celery, beets, and many other foods following Jack's juicer book recipes. I made two 20 oz juices ONCE A WEEK. By week 15 the motor burned out. I called the factory and told them what happened. They diagnosed the problem apologized. I never registered for warranty work so I gave up on getting a warranty replacement or repair. The other issue was the location of the juice spout. It was way too low. All of my glasses are standard tall sized. 5 oz is not acceptable. I had to put the machine on a big phone book. Silly. I don't recommend this juicer for anyone.

I really enjoy the Jack Lalanne juicer. I find it very well made and easy to clean although it takes a few minutes to do so.

I just spray it with kitchen sink sprayer and that's it. I'm a chronic pain sufferer and I have to take medicines that at times bind me up.

Since I've been using this product my fiber intake has gone up considerably which has solved this problem. And their are obviously many other health benefits of juiceing.

The one draw back is you have to be careful of your calorie intake because of the sugars you will naturaly get from some of the fruits.

I do believe that the benefits far out way the draw backs as long as your aware of them and I highly recommend juiceing as well as this product.

Sincerely - Marc Richard

Totally agree with other 1-star reviewers- waist of food and money. If you care to get the most from your veggies and fruits (especially if you pay more for organic ones) -you don't wanna throw away the pulp that is so moist that you can squeeze more juice with your bare hands!.. Handles poorly hard vegetables like carrots and beets, only VERY small apples can fit whole without cutting, chokes a lot..-overall- bad experience!

This juicer is a complete and utter waste of money. Do not believe the hype! I've gone through a few juicers in over 15 years. I've never seen one like this.
So much vegetables and fruit are wasted. Most of what you're trying to juice ends up in the pulp collector. No wonder they keep going on in their manual and DVD with recipes and ideas as to what to do with your pulp! They give all these recipes for muffins and breads ... but that's not my reason for buying a juicer! I bought it to buy juice. Not to bake muffins! I have never ever seen such little juice come out of a bag of carrots. Unbelievable.
Installing it is a pain.
Cleaning it is even worse.
I wish I'd kept my box so that I could return this.
Amazon should honestly consider not carrying this.

Ever since I purchased this juicer, I have used it every single day. It has a world of options from making fresh juice, to using the pulp for baking or smoothies. Drinking fresh juice has made my skin glow and look beautiful and I stopped drinking coffee as a glass of fresh OJ does the same for me. The juicer is very easy to clean a pretty low maintenance and not too bulky. The only thing I would be prepared for is that it will take a lot of what you are juicing to make a glass of juice. You should be prepared to buy fruits and vegetables in bulk if you plan to use it often. Just imagine the health benefits from the long term use.

Being a fan of the old white JLL juicer and needing a new one- since after 10 years it took a crip on me. I went to Costco and splurged on a new one. Came home tried my normal juicing the the motor would make a wierd noise and stop juicing. It continually did this. So I returned it, missing my juicer very much, saw it at target and decided to give it another try. Same thing! It was nothing like the old white plastic juicer. This new fancy shinky steel juicer of his is second quality compared to his first. Anyways the second JLL juicer did the same thing and it was very annoying trying to juice when the motor wouldnt cooperate. It was like trying to take my dog for a walk- it just doesnt work out the way I plan. So there you go- two reviews- and to add to it-my sister bought it too and the same thing happened to her! She ended up returning hers and we both found the old white version at Target and it has been working perfectly ever since. I love my juicer. I just wish someone would clean it up for me. Do I clean first and then drink or drink first and then clean? Maybe Ill just leave it there until tommorrow and clean it after my coffee.

I bought this model because I simply couldn't find the difference between Standard, Deluxe, Pro, and Elite - turns out Deluxe has the push-up spigot to stop leaks, Pro additionally has a steel mesh, and . This is the second juicer I've owned, the first went back right away as being far too cheap. This one was mid-priced and I'm not sure I'll bother upgrading to a Breville anytime soon.

First, and most importantly, I use this in addition to a blender. A juicer cannot take the place of a blender, unless it's a 2-in-1, it's meant for extracting juice to combine with pulpier fruits or other liquids. It has no blending or mixing capacity whatsoever, DO NOT buy it expecting blender functionality. I use it once a week or so in big batches and mix the juices in a blender with bananas, protein powder, berries, for some awesome workout power boosts and mental focus. I often include some of the pulp for extra fiber as well.

I think it's a little on the large side already, but it's a good trade-off where it is, fits just under the cabinets. It does extract a lot of juice, and it is truly whisper quiet when it's not juicing. When it is, it sounds a bit like a quiet power saw. Very nice. It's easy to clean with some water pressure, quick and simple to disassemble. I don't let it sit and dry, though.

Downsides: I find cleanup cumbersome, just because the parts are so large and barely fit into two sinks. The flat bowl inside is definitely poor design, I have to tip it to get everything to drain out. Thick skins and cores can slow it down considerably. It takes some practice to quickly take the top off to clean a clogged blade, and it's a bit inconvenient, but it's not that hard and usually only has to be done for very fibrous cores (pineapples, mangoes). I'm going to look into the suggestion to place an O-ring to prevent interior leaks; I've had that happen while trying to drain the last of the juice once. The manual that comes with it is also partly wishful thinking, I mostly use my own experience as a guide.

I will update if anything happens to it over time.

For $89, I give this 3.5-4 stars, but if it was the regular price of over $100, I'd probably lower it to 3.

Ugggh! I am writing this while watching the J.L. paid advertising. What a sales pitch!
Apples fit only if you buy the small, tiny apples. The same is true for pears, cucumbers, oranges, grapefruit.

The commercial shows them putting whole oranges and pineapple in the machine, but the instructions direct you to peel oranges, grapefruit and pineapple. If you do not peel the oranges or grapefruit it will be very bitter, failing to peel the pineapple will clog your machine (cleaning horror) and give you a throat scraching juice.

What works best? Grapes, peeled oranges and grapefruit, carrots, ginger, raddish, beets, tomatoes
No go's? Anything with large seeds or pits, anything soft (no bananas, peaches, very ripe or soft fruit), no dry hi fiber like wheat grass or spinach

It takes a lot more fruit to make a glass of juce than you might think. An 8 oz glass of OJ takes about 5 med-large oranges. Deffinately not a cost effective process.

I thought clean up was a real pain. The lid, the chute, the mesh strainer, the blade, the basin the blade sits in, the pulp bucket...The infomercial says you can put it in the dishwaher but just looking at the parts that does not seen advisable.

Skip the 'stainless' version if you have to pay more for it. It's fake.

I personally bought this one as a gift for my Uncle. His Wife informed me that they "use to" have the same model until moving to Nevada. She stated that their Orig. one burned up & they BOTH felt it was because it gets too hot in Nevada & the mach. needs a cooler atmosphere( They ONLY had Orig. for 3yrs).So I guess if you live in a Hot State you will want to turn your Air on Before running it. My Personal opinion/exp. is that the only Negatives were in cleaning the mach. & the Spout gets clogged during use espec. with Oranges! We take it outside to hose off with a high pressure sprayer, however ALWAYS find little pockets we have to reclean. As far as the spout clogging that just takes a good shake or use of a pointed object to sweep the opening out.

All of the problems with design and performance that other have cited hold true. But one thing nobody has mentioned. DO NOT INSERT APPLE SEEDS INTO THE MACHINE. LaLane claims you can put whole apples into this unit, and you can... but apple seeds also contain a cyanide compound, which would not kill you in the quantities you'd get from this juicer.... but I STILL do not want to have trace amounts of a deadly toxin in my system, all because I'm too lazy to slice an apple. LaLane says in his infomercials to put an entire bunch of grapes into the machine, because "The seeds have lots of good nutrients". This seems to say that that machine can pulverize seeds, which is bad news in the case of the apple seed. If a person eats apple seeds whole, the hard coating ussually allows the seed to pass through the digestive tract untouched, thus not exposing the body to the cyanide compunds in the inner parts of the seed. But put those through this machine and cause damage to the seed's coating, and well... you do that math.

I have owned just about every juicer out there ( Centrifuge and Masticating). I started juicing over 15 years ago starting with the Juiceman. This unit is optimal and a good value. As with all juicers of this type you do not want to juice SOFT fruit. Fresh and Firm is where it is at. This will produce the best yield for juice. Never mix fruit and vegetable juices. There are only a few pieces to clean which will help you to keep juicing longer without giving it up. Vegetable juices are by far the most beneficial of juices. There are health benefits and cautions to note. When juicing fresh garlic be aware that it does lower Blood Pressure. I used good sized amounts mixed with California Carrot. I recorded a 20 point drop in bp INSTANTLY. If you lake BP meds you need to be careful not to run into trouble. Most Doctors are ignorant about juicing benefits. The easy way to tell if a machine is good is by the size of the feed tube. A large one indicates a good motor to chew up the produce. A small one will struggle to work well. Also when you press down while processing the fruit or veggies, If the motor slows on you noticably then you have a dog of a juicer ( no slight to pooches out there). Grasses are best left to masticating juicers for efficient results as are soft fruits. ONLY use CALIFORNIA CARROTS WHEN JUICING. The best is from Bakersfield and or Grimmway farms. The Carrots are as sweet as fruit. Florida is a fair second and no other should be used as they can get real bitter. I use a large Pyrex measuring cup to collect my juice direct from the machine. ALWAYS fit the pieces of the machine together snugly and double check it before you turn it on. If you do not you may chew off some of the top of the unit and effectively ruin your machine by increasing the gap on the bottom of the assembly near the bladed bowl. This last part was extremely important do not forget it. Buy this unit and follow directions. I know you will be a happy camper.

I bought this item at [...] and it is good to juice oranges and carrots or any kind of hard vegetable or fruit, but when it comes to green leafy vegetables does not work at all, you will end up with all the leafs in the pulp container and 0 juice as a result, wasted money. This product is advertise as a dishwasher safe, but when I putted in the dishwasher the chute shrank and then every time I push down some fruit or veggie it doesn't come up easily, so end up really being a nightmare, I called Jack La Lane and they said I have to buy a new chute even do I have been only a few weeks with this product.
