It's really heavy so it doesn't dance around the counter top. You need to make a LOT of orange juice to justify the high price.

This juicer is simple and it works. It has a switch on the side, so the push down to turn on type switch in the other ones that always breaks isn't there. It's really just a motor with a reamer on it - simple and effective. The motor is powerful - it never bogs down. The white finish is probably easier to keep clean, nut the stainless looks pretty sharp.

It works well. More expensive than I expected but if it lasts for 10 or more citrus seasons, then it will have been worth it. I have 4 orange trees, 2 grapefruit trees, 2 tangelo trees and a lemon tree, so I do a lot of juicing. So far thus season, it has done well.

We have a small citrus orchard plus friends share their oranges with us. Since we can't possibly eat them all we juice them and store them in the freezer. Our old juicer gave out last season so we needed one that was heavy duty and could handle the job. We froze 23 gallons of orange and grapefruit juice this year. Needless to say it worked great without even a strain. So far so good.

This is the second juicer I tried and it works well. It doesn't walk across my counter and juices pretty efficiently. I guess the only negative thing about it is the build-up of pulp after processing several fruits, which doesn't release a lot of juice and I have to take something to scrape it.

I replaced a cheap Black & Decker model with auto-reverse, because the grinding noise would get on my nerves. Having said that, the cheap Black & Decker WAS as efficient as this one. So, if I were you I would check out the cheaper model before buying this one.

After one use, I returned the Waring Citrus Juicer and ordered a Citrus Press instead. That one use made it obvious to me that this would not be a juicer that I would wish to use every day.

Pros:
* EASY to clean. I wanted to keep it for this reason alone!
* SIMPLE to use. Simple to put together; simple to run.

Cons:
* S-L-O-W. The speed of the juicer is incredibly slow. It took almost 5 minutes to juice 2 oranges. I also had to press hard to hold the half orange on the extractor.
* Wasteful. Doesn't get all the juice and pulp from the rind.

If you want a simple citrus juicer that you probably won't use every day, I would be able to recommend this. Otherwise, I would advise investing in a slightly more expensive citrus press.

We bought this to replace an inexpensive citrus juicer which could not hold up to our demands of a machine that can juice more than a dozen or so oranges. That one burned up. We have an orange tree which yields a lot of fruit. The Waring is said to have a safety switch that turns off the motor if it gets to hot, preventing burnout. The motor has a 5 year warranty. So far, it is performing well. Even with heavy pressure the motor does not seem to be under a strain and doesn't slow down. The unit is heavy enough that it does not move around on the granite countertop. It is a little louder than I thought it would be, but it doesn't annoy me.

One feature that convinced me to go with this juicer is that it was described as "stainless steel." It is NOT--it's plastic! Notice the color selection is white or stainless steel--COLOR. Elsewhere, though on the page it is (or was when I bought it) simply described as stainless steel. And, on other web sites, like buy.com, it was clearly listed as being stainless steel. Given careful treatment, I expect it to hold up well anyway, but the stainless steel plastic definitely does not contribute much to its weight.

This juicer is easy to use, easy to clean, heavy enough to stand still on the counter top and just what I needed.

This product worked out perfect for home juicing. It is heavy duty enough to handle alot of fruit in one juicing and also works well for just a few fruits. I find that it juices the smaller fruit better than the larger fruits (such as grapefruit and navel oranges) because the smaller fruit fits better around the reamer.

This seems to be a decent juicer. It filters most of the pulp and cleans out the skins, minimizing waste. Clean up is pretty easy as well.

This is a duplicate replacement juicer for the one I have had for six years. I am replacing it because I currently hear straining noises in the motor and don't want to take a chance of the old one conking out before I have a replacement standing in the wings to take over (since I usually juice a full 40 lb case at a time).
I can't say enough great things about this product. One should remember that the motor has a full five year warranty. Most juicers you buy for around $25 are lucky if they last a year (I went through about three of 'em before finding this gem). I highly recommend!

This is the second Waring Citrus Juicer given that the first one's motor strained with just the slightest pressure.
Surprisingly, the current one, presumably with a properly working motor, also strained with pressure although it allowed for more pressure than the first, faulty unit.

It appears that the motor is not very powerful. As well, the juicer attachment, over time, since it doesn't have a very tight fit over the motor shaft, will simply stop turning when pressure is applied.

I returned the unit and opted for the more expensive Breville Citrus Juicer.
That unit is magnitudes better than the Waring unit.

My recommendation is to not even consider buying the Waring unit. It has an underperforming motor and is poorly constructed.

We have 7 orange trees and a lemon tree. We are serious juicers from California, juicing every day. This juicer really works. Several juicers have bit the dust in our house. The problem was they just didn't have the power. I knew this one was different when I took it out of the box and saw the heavy duty cord with 3 prongs. The motor is much superior to anything we have had in 30 (really) years.

After testing several low end citrus juicers and finding them lacking in both features and power, I decided to spring for the pricier Waring Pro.

This machine is heavy duty but light enough to handle and compact enough to store on a cabinet shelf. The motor is relatively quiet and the reamer type extractor is a hard plastic that can taske a beating. It operates with the flick of a switch and is very easy to clean: just lift out the reamer and basket.

I juice oranges every day and find this unit to be sturdy and perfect for any task. The best one I've seen yet.

this juicer is not what we expected, based on the reviews we had read. it simply does not perform well at its most basic task, getting juice out of an orange or lemon. frustratingly, the motor appears to disengage when you "press firmly", which is the recommended operating method.

I bought this product because it had great reviews from several buyers. I was extremely excited when I received it but was quickly disappointed. The product had no power whatsoever. It kept on stopping each time I put any kind of pressure on the orange. Apart from looking great on the kitchen counter and very easy to clean (I have to give it that), its OJ making abilities gets 0 starts.

Buyers beware that this item is not returnable and thus not refundable by Amazon or Ace Photo Digital. If you buy it you are stuck with it. I would think twice before buying this product or any product from Amazon or Ace Photo Digital as their return policy is very restricted. READ THE FINE PRINT. I should have known when the package came without the return slip and return instructions in it.

I shop online all the time and this was my first Amazon experience. I have to say it was not a good one.

i love it.

for me this unit works great.

i've had it for a few months now, and used it about 8 times thus far.
so far so good. :)

strong, dependable, and not too noisy.

i read a review in which they described the plastic as flimsy or otherwise less than desirable, and that caused some hesitation in my purchase but i decided to take a chance anyway and i'm glad i did.

the plastic parts are not flimsy or in any way inferior to any other plastic items of similar usage.

another review mentioned the spout being in an inconvenient location in regards to the on off switch but since you can place the spout in any direction you like, i also view this as a non-issue.

great purchase no complaints. :)

I own and wrote a glorious review of my Waring blender with stainless steel body which looks nearly identical to this, however, this product (listed as stainless steel) is fake! There is no metal in it. If you look carefully at the pictures, you can see it is exactly as the white one (which I assume is also plastic). They merely put a scratched mylar coating on the plastic. The other plastic pieces also seem flimsy and poorly made. The quality was much worse than my old, cheap $15 Braun juicer. The power of this unit is decent, but not so much that I think it qualifies for a $100 juicer. I would have given this a much better rating if it was half the price or if it really was made out of stainless steel. The "stainless" finish is fake and doesn't match my other stainless appliances.

This Jucier is powerful enough and that was the most important thing. However the design has the turn on switch front and center so that when the jucier is in the off mode, switch down, you can not place your glass up against the machine. I think it would have been better to have the switch on the side so it isn't in the way. This was purchased for my college girl and she loves it as she buys those nice costco grapefruit and uses this jucier lots.

We juice a lot of oranges and have been thru several juicers. I was looking for a sturdy juicer that could hold up to the task of juicing bags of oranges. This Waring is a work horse. It's motor is true and does not waver under pressure. When you hold the orange on the rotating juicer there is no hesitation and it continues in one direction (some change direction when the pressure changes). The only thing I dislike is the juicer head is not as aggressive as I would like. The ridges are pretty smooth so I am required to use more hand muscle to squeeze the orange down. If the ridges were larger it would work better. There is no pulp adjuster like some, but we like pulp so it is good for us. I tend to squeeze the pulp down the rotating sifter with a spoon on this model since the sifter basket does not spin fast enough to get all the juice out. Overall I think the motor will outlast everything. Too bad there is only one size juicing head.

This is strong and effective. It is heavy enough to keep it from driving around your counter while attempting to juice. Easy cleanup due to detachable sturdy plastic parts. IMHO worth the extra money over buying a cheaper citrus juicer.

Have had the stainless Waring unit since Christmas and it's working great. Had a Braun unit which would stall, but this one has at least twice the power. Have tried it on grapefruit, navels, valencias, limes, lemons and tangerines, several hundred fruit so far. Minor problems with the grapefruits, mine are particularly fibrous. A breeze to clean, the black bowl doesn't stain. Highly recommended.

Relatively quiet machine. Heavy and sturdy. Works much better than any of the juicers that have the reversing clutch mechanism. Direct drive motor means it will probably last for years. Juices grapefruit. limes, lemons and oranges with much less effort compared to other models.

I don't get it! So many good reviews for this product! The stainless steel body is good and sturdy. But the Juicer Tray and Squeezer are made of poor quality plastic and it bends badly. It is not worthy of the price tag. There are others better buys than this one.

juices lemons, limes, oranges in a flash .

I recently purchased the Waring PCJ218 Citrus Juicer and it's a little workhorse. I had tried a cheap electric juicer that lasted about 15 lemons before the motor gave out. I have been juicing lemons and oranges with this product all summer and still no signs of wearing out. It is one of the best small home appliances I have ever bought and would highly recommend this to anyone interested in juicing. You will not be disappointed!

We've had two less expensive juicers previously, but they didn't last long and/or had a very noisy, grinding sound. I bought this juicer for my husband for Christmas (our family juice-maker) and we all love it. It's much quieter, quick and an easy clean-up. He makes me and the kids a nice take-along breakfast when we're headed off to school. This is a great investment in your health!

Great juicer! I have been juicing citrus (mostly oranges) for the past few years. My old Oster juicer was on it's last leg! I tried 5 different juicers and none of them worked as good as the Oster until I purchased the Waring! It is a very powerful machine and you need that when you do a 100 oranges at a time. The only reason I did not give this machine a 5 was that the pulp basket (I think it is to small and needs something to move the pulp so the juice can get through) fills quickly and there is no juice reservoir. You have to have 2 containers to catch the juice or you will have juice all over you counter.

Absolutely terrific unit! The motor is super strong - it doesn't bog down nor is there any electrical smell when it gets worked hard (like other brands out there). I can go through an entire back of oranges and it keeps on chugging. It puts out so much continuous torque that you need to make sure the counter surface you're using it on is "sticky" enough - otherwise, a smooth surface might cause it to twirl away on you.

I bought this brand for the first time after my $14.99 Walmart special crapped out about 5 minutes into using it. I'll never look back; Waring has definitely made me a repeat customer to its brand name.

I have tried many juicers over the last few years since moving to FLorida. I have several orange trees in my yard, and like fresh squeezed juice every morning. Most have been dissapointing for sure. My last Braun juicer was not bad, but the motor would slow down quite a bit when I applied a decent pressure. Plus, the basket just broke and left me looking for a new model. After reading the reviews, I decided for the Waring. Yes, it is expensive compared to many Walmart juicers. But it is worth it. It has an excellent design, with a heavy cast iron base which keeps it rock solid stable on the counter when operating. The motor is very powerful, and spins the juicer at a decent speed. It is so powerful, that no matter how hard (within reason) I push down on the orange, the motor just will not slow down. GREAT!! Plus it is very easy to clean, as there are no tight corners or crevaces for bit of citrus pulp to accumulate. I definitely recommend this juicer.

I bought the juicer to handle a tree full of giant sized Ponderosa lemons (they're the size of grapefruit) that is getting ahead of me in lemon production. I juice the lemons and freeze juice in ice cube trays for later cooking -- but with a manual juicer and a hundred large lemons, my hands couldn't keep up. Enter the Waring juicer. Now all I have to do is cut, juice, and pour, and the thing goes through lemon after giant lemon with no problem at all. I've done juicing sessions of 1 hour at a time. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use all these cubes of juice!

I looked and looked for the right juicer. I was going to get one of those that you pull the bar down to press the juice out. I had ordered it and then learned that often the arm on it would break. What to do?! I was really wanting something that would be reliable and require the least amount of work as possible.
The Waring juicer was just what I wanted. it was actually less money than the citrus press was. It is super simple and yet it works fantastically.
There's no learning curve and the clean up is seconds.
You've got the juice capturing device and the part that actually extracts the juice to clean up and that's it. The rest is the stainless steel housing that is self contained.
It's fast, efficient and sturdy. This is no cheap machine. You don't have to worry about using a little force, if you want, though you really don't have to. I'm a strong guy and I put some serious pressure on mine and it doesn't balk at it.

Try it, you'll love it!

My mother loves fresh squeezed orange juice, but only had the little plastic manual hand one. I bought this one for her for christmas and although she was a little weary of it at first (ELECTRONICS) she is using it every day now.
The juicer is big enough to squeeze grapefruits, oranges, and lemons/limes. It's easy to fit a tall glass under the juice dipenser and the clean up takes the same amount of time that the plastic manual juicer did. However, with this juicer you will get at least 25% more juice, there is no way you can squeeze dry an orange like that with your hands.
It's easy to use and powers up better if you press a little on the fruit.

I bought less expensive model that did not work from out of the box. Big disappointment and lots lof work handjuicing a bag of lemons.

This juicer works great, the kids can use it safely with a little instruction. We built a house this hot summer and used it several times weekly to juice several bags of lemons each time. It held up fine and continues to sit in my new kitchen being used regularly.

Do have to clean the pulp out often but once get the hang of grabbing it out don't even have to turn the motor off to do that.

My strainer is beginning to look less than white. Don't know if a little bleach would fix that or if it is a coating that is dulling.

Nice long chord handy if need the length kind of in the way if want it hidden to store on countertop.

Heavy enough to take pressure of juicing (even by kids who are not gentle) but light enough that I store it in a cupboard and take out to use it.

So glad I bought this.

BTW We make the greatest lemonade using 1 cup of lemons, 5/6 dropperfulls of liquid stevia and water for 1/2 gallon of lemonade. If don't want to do stevia 1 cup of sugar perfect.

This is a great juicer for citrus fruit. You just push a halved citrus fruit against the reamer, and the filtered juice pours out the spout. It is very stable (no walking around the counter), easy to clean and quiet (just a moderate whirring sound). The spout is positioned high enough for my tallest glasses. In short, it's perfect!

For the price, this juicer is about as good as you can get these days. It is a little slower than the juicer it replaces, but it does a good job over all. The plastic on the reamer has peeled slightly at the tip and the strainer is a little fine if you like lots of pulp in your juice; also you have to remove some of the pulp to promote juice going through the strainer. We have had it only for about a month, so no telling on longevity. But the Acme juicer, which this basically was, had a good reputation. And despite my little criticisms, we like it a lot and are glad to have it. Also it is heavy enough not to move when in use, a very good feature. It cleans up easy and does not take up much room on the counter. We recommend it to any who love fresh juice in the morning!

Easy to use, easy to clean. Juices grapefruit, oranges, lemons, limes, and keylimes with no problems. I like it so much I bought one for my Dad for his 70th Birthday! 5 stars!
**
After having used this juicer for over a year (under heavy use - 6 oranges a day) the reamer has started to slip and it makes a grinding noise. The downside of this juicer is that the center post is plastic and not metal. I'm still searching to find out if this post can be replaced. I have loved the juicer and am sorry to say that if you are a heavy juicer then try to get this on sale, if you are the occasional juicer then this will last you a lifetime. Current rating for heavy juicers - 3 stars!
