What exactly is a juicer and what does it do?
A juicer is a device that is primarily used to extract juice from vegetables, fruits and leafy greens. A juicer can either be operated manually or electrically. Types of juicers can vary depending on the kind of fruit, vegetable or greens that are being juiced. Typical juicer types include centrifugal juicers, citrus juicers and masticating juicers. Each of these juicer types release juice from the food source differently and result in different strains and types of juice.
A juicer is not a blender. The main difference between a juicer and a blender is that a juicer typically has some kind of mechanism that separates food pulp from the juice. In contrast, a blender chops and grinds the food fiber and juice together and the pulp has to be manually strained.
